Just Get Sewing - 30 Day Challenge

Challenge yourself to make one Quilt As You Go (QAYG) hexagon a day, by the end of the month you will have completed 30 hexagons. I have created 7 designs for this challenge that just use 30 Hexagons, however you might even want to continue sewing and create a quilt.

To make a hexagon takes about 10-15 minutes so its not too scary, although we want you to have fun and not be stressed, so if one a day seems to much create your own daily, weekly, or monthly goal.

The challenge starts on the 1st April, and I will be posting lots of hints, tips, design ideas and more for the entire month.

What you will need:

2 ½" QAYG Hexagon Template at Daisy and Grace, or Missouri Star Quilt co for US customers
Wadding/Batting (scraps from the edges of made quilts are perfect)
Fabric an individual hexagon requires a backing square 7
" x 6 and a 5" square for the front. A great way to stash bust, get your fat ¼’s, charm squares or yardage ready.

You will also need a cutting mat, rotary cutter (although my mum cuts hers with scissors after marking them out as she doesn’t like rotary cutting, so even a pair of scissors will do) quilting clips or pins and of course a needle and thread or your sewing machine.

Come and join me at Daisy and Grace Quilters on Facebook where we encourage and support with a great group of friends and we would love for you to share your progress and Daisy & Grace makes.
